I’ve been anxiously awaiting this title for months – having already purchased the 2 individual DVD’s of RR that have been out for a few years. I honestly plan this would be the be all to slay all for our Devil-may-care-flying-fool. What we do obtain is 120 episodes when there are a total of 156 5 diminutive shorts produced. Having a puny bonus foam glider in the package is nice, but why not give us 4 discs and ALL the episodes. This dwelling does have nice packaging-and a mercurial stare through the episides-they seem to be cleaned up reasonably well-though certainly not to the same quality as the Warner Bros or Hanna Barbera sets.

Still a must have for any Roger fan, but I really wish when companies consider to do a package of this sort that they’d go all the contrivance with it and give us a complete location.

“Roger Ramjet” unprejudiced might have been the quirkiest cartoon of the ’60s. A homegrown Hollywood product, created and executed by UPA artist Fred Crippen and a gaggle of top L.A. comedy writers and radio pros, this is truly a ‘toon like no other. Where else could you regain the simplest sort of animation, an old-time radio feel, soap-opera organ music, and some clever Wrathful magazine-level scripts? Roger, that “All-American Trustworthy Guy and Devil-May-Care Flying Fool”, is a scatterbrained superhero who’s assign into all kinds of places: period movie/TV landmarks (the Blunderosa Ranch), outer-space places (a state ship that steals beauty queens), a tennis match against a kangaroo (“Pancho Pouch”) …you glean the concept. I know I’d have loved this benefit in the day, but I don’t contain it even aired here in Current England.

It’s never too leisurely to notice a lost cartoon, however, and “Roger Ramjet”- whose likably-crude animation, cleaned up nicely here, made the work of Hanna-Barbera and Jay Ward notice like Looney Tunes technicolor (check out the misspelled dialogue cards!) – is very delightful primarily due to the writing, all of which was done by a prolific comedy writer and L.A. kiddie-show host named Gene Moss, and one of the best groups of command talent I’ve ever heard in the medium. First among them, of course, is one of my lifelong idols, the incomparable Gary Owens. In the mid-’60s, Gary was unbiased making his name as a very witty drive-time deejay on local radio. His million-dollar declare and patented delivery of humorous sayings with same really makes it. So does Dave Ketchum, a dependable sitcom warhorse with acting and writing credits longer than your arm, who took the stentorian narrator role in the tradition of “Bullwinkle”’s William Conrad and tweaked it with slight winks and nods that showed he was having a mountainous time pulling kids’ legs. Gary and Dave are joined by Moss himself (as mini-mobster Noodles Romanoff), Bob Arbogast(an unsung comedy hero who created the “Interrogate Man”/”Carnac” skits) and several others to give “Ramjet” an uncanny radio comedy sketch tone that not only would have been at home on many period AM stations, but gave these sometimes-dumb episodes a surprisingly classy feel. These were some of the best yuk-meisters in Hollywood cutting up after hours for kids of all ages.

An impressive 120 episodes (out of 156) appear on these CDs. There are no extras whatsoever, unless you count the microscopic foam glider inside (talk about an el-cheapo bonus!) The episodes are listed by title only, and there’s no intention you can skip over the “Yankee Doodle”-style theme song which opened and closed each one. Fortunately, the menus- all rendered in old-time movie title-card form- neatly split the shows up into six or seven-episode clusters.

And what of Lompoc? That real-life town in central California was Roger’s home horrible, along with his sidekick kids, the American Eagles. The kids are bewitching side characters- Yank, Doodle, Dan and Dee (score it? ) And, once every three episodes or so, you might get not only some lame puns or non-PC guests (Beef and Chicken Enchilada, anyone? ), but some tremendous name-drops (Vera Hruba Ralston, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, even Rusty Warren) . Like I said, these guys were pros who wrote for everyone from Bob Hope to Carol Burnett in non-’toon life.

If you’re a fan of old-time radio comedy, classic TV variety/comic skits, or vintage MAD-level satire, “Roger Ramjet” is truly a lost pick up. Anyone who could saunter the name “Rusty Warren”- a sassy singing comedienne (and classically-trained pianist) who was anything but kid stuff in the ’60s- into a cartoon is OK by me. The lack of extras and bare-bones glimpse hold this from getting a higher rating, but- OK, I’ll admit it. I esteem Gary Owens. So ends this belated review of these 100-plus insegrevious episodes and adventures of “Roger Ramjet and the American Eagles!” (Cue Roger stumbling over a bucket) .

Great hardware, badly designed and very limiting software
Components: The set comes with four cameras, mounting hardware, four 50-foot cables for video and power, monitoring box, and an Ethernet cable. A computer with access to the internet is needed to set up the system, as the monitoring box will need to be connected to a home network. Neither the camera nor the recording box are wireless, so everything needs to be wired.

Installation: Installation was fairly simple. Due to issues with the software (discussed further below), you may want to install cameras roughly where you want them and run the wires temporarily, to make sure the device meets your needs before permanently installing them. Once the hardware is installed, you’ll need to set up the device on the company website.

Functionality: Each camera has its own power source, rather than having each powered by the recording box. So, while long cables are provided making it unnecessary to have an outlet near the camera, you’ll still need a total of 5 outlets in the same spot wherever you put the recording box, which is cumbersome. We had to use a surge protector in order to have enough outlets to plug everything in. It would be better if all the cameras were powered by the box. The picture quality from the cameras is comparable to any other security camera: low resolution and grainy, but more than sufficient for its purpose.

The hardware components are excellent. There’s a lot of interesting potential here. The device can be linked to external triggers, such as an alarm system, motion sensor, or a switch attached to an entryway door. These external sensors can be used to trigger recording.

Where the system really falls apart is the software. First, despite both the Amazon product page and the packaged documentation, there is no free subscription available. The monitoring service costs $7.99 per month, and there are no discounts for pre-payment. The first problem that we encountered with setting the software up is that it’s all done online, and the web address provided in the package documentation was not correct. I had to download an updated manual from the website in order to find the web page to set up the device. The website used for configuring the cameras is very difficult to use. It routinely lost contact with the cameras during configuration, making setup cumbersome. Oddly, when viewing video from the cameras outside the setup, we didn’t encounter the same difficulty.

The largest limitation with the software is the inability to set up the cameras to record continuously, as one would expect with most security cameras. The system only works by recording based on events and all recordings are stored on a website. Through the website you create your own events, such as a person entering the room or a door opening; only when these set events occur does the camera record, rather than being able to record and store continuous video.

Pros: High quality cameras, ability to connect to external triggers.

Cons: No free subscription service, horrible website, no ability to continuously record (only can record based on pre-programmed events).

We gave this three stars after much deliberation. For us personally, it would be two stars due to its limitations. For those that don’t mind the limitations, it could be a four star product.

Smart security
I honestly haven’t decided whether I am going to use these inside or outide. You want to give thought to this before you order, because in my home, the ivory cameras will be less obtrusive indoors, but but a darker color would have been more appropriate for any outdoor location.

One thing I like about this system is that the cameras are really tiny–smaller than I expected. The ivory colored tube that houses each camera lens is 3″ long and only 3/4″ in diameter. These tubes are mounted on even smaller bases. So these little guys are smaller than I was anticipating, very unobtrusive. Yet these weather proof mini-cams have a very sturdy and durable feel to them–not like some plastic plug-in Web cam.

Another concern I had was the cost of running the system month to month since there is a monthly fee–although the first year is included. My understanding after researching this online is that at the present time, the monthly fee is less than $10, so this one one cheap to run security feature that you can add to your home.

It’ going to be a while before I get these up and running, but I am favorably impressed and would recommend this product. I am curious to see if having this system gives me a discount on my home owners insurance. I’ll edit this review further after I get this system up and running.

In an wretchedness to revive their marriage Eva & Harry resolve to adopt. Eva undergoes an attitude adjustment & their relationship improves. Unfortunately, Phyllis proves to be be very fecund. Because he loves her, Phyllis becomes wife #2. In an immodest amount of time, she has a baby. The movie implied to me that it would have been better had Harry merely kept Phyllis as a mistress. But because he tried to be a decent guy he got busted. It’s a most wicked crime & justice (? ) will be severe. Ida Lupino serves double duty here & she’s one superb director. Her acting as Phyllis is very kindly as is Joan Fontaine as Eva. But the best perfromamce is Edmund O’Brien as Harry. He really shows some acting chops in this one. Ida Lupino had not gotten the recognition she deserved as the comely director she was in her occupy time. She is getting a shrimp now belatedly, thanks to TCM.

Ida Lupino, best known as a pragmatic, sensible, piquant actress of the 30s – 50s, usually playing tough but kind-hearted, hard-luck characters–HIGH SIERRA, ON Uncertain GROUND–was also a producer and an independent filmmaker. She acted in and directed a lot of TV too, into the 1970s. The half-dozen films she directed were mostly dramas, often about “controversial” subjects. THE BIGAMIST takes a rather stolid Edmund O’Brien, married to a supremely self-confident and classy Joan Fontaine in San Francisco, and since O’Brien is a traveling salesman whose job takes him frequently to Los Angeles, one thing leads to another and he pairs up with with working-class Ida Lupino in LA. THE BIGAMIST sets out to try to understand this ordinary hero who ends up married to two women. Sounds tantalizing, and the film has a star cast: why is it such a insensible experience, then?

For all those DVD owners who are Errol Flynn fans or objective lifeless worship movies of the 30’s and 40’s, Santa Fe Creep is a fair film. Never mind political correctness or historical accuracy (none to be found), objective smile and emerse yourselves in huge entertainment by broad stars…Errol Flynn (JEB Stuart), Raymond Massey (an awesome John Brown), Ronald Reagan (Custer), Olivia de Havilland, Alan Hale, et al. Solid performances by all.

The Roan Group did a gracious job transferring the movie to DVD…the sound is agreeable and the represent sure. One can only hope that more of Flynn’s movies will be transferred to DVD. To date none of his truly substantial movies, The Adventure’s of Robin Hood, The Sea Hawk, Gentleman Jim, The Charge of the Light Brigade, Dodge City, Captain Blood, and Unbiased Burma are no where to be seen on the DVD horizon. A precise travesty for all fans of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Errol Flynn and Ronald Reagan star as soldiers out to thwart abolitionist John Brown in this action film status in the years unprejudiced prior to the open of the Civil War. The U.S. is divided on the bellow of slavery, and Brown has managed to waddle the pot quite a bit. Flynn’s best leading lady Olivia de Havilland is along again, this time as the tomboy that both Flynn and Reagan esteem. Van Heflin is a used fellow cadet of theirs who works for Brown, and Alan Hale is along for another run with Flynn, providing the funny relief as usual. The performances are all wonderful, with particular praise going to Raymond Massey as Brown, giving an insane, Jesus-like turn as the man whose motives are apt, but whose means are very, very base. The script mixes a lot of action with humour and romance, plus a few political speeches. The cheerful ending seems tacked on, but other than that, it works well enough. A lot of people comment on the historical inaccuracies of this film (it’s even mentioned on the video box description!), but my reaction has always been that you don’t glance a Hollywood movie for a history lesson. Dramatic necessities will always lead to changing history to suit the film’s needs. Instead, honest sit support, savor the action, the chemistry of Flynn and de Havilland, the humour, the sizable gain, and simply capture away the conception of what the time must have been like, rather than the facts.

AMAZINGLY SHARP AND FAST SUPER-WIDE ANGLE
I have used this lens extensively with the 1D and the Rebel XT. Results have been excellent. My suspicion is that the previous reviewer got a defective or damaged copy of the lens. It is incredibly sharp, even at f1.8, which I did not expect – generally you expect a lens to be a bit soft wide open, especially 1.8. The degree of sharpness of this lens is quite surprising.

I have used, for example, both the Canon 50mm f1.8 and the Canon 35mm f2.0, both of which are deservedly renowned for their sharpness and contrast. I find this lens to be sharper than either of them wide open. The lens provides images which have excellent color saturation and contrast. Of course, at f1.8, depth of field is razor thin, by design, which is great for bokeh or out of focus background, but which also requires care concerning the desired focal point being in focus. Speaking of bokeh, I find it to be very attractive compared to any other lens I have used.

Its minimum distance focusing is also quite remarkable. I think it is rated at just under 8 inches, but I routinely focus at distances which seem a good bit closer than that. The lens works well as a macro for many applications, with a relatively strong multiplication factor.

Of course, given the inherent light-gathering of a 20mm focal length lens, combined with a huge aperture of f1.8, this lens is outstanding for shooting indoors or in other low-light situations with natural light and no flash.

Canon’s nearest competitor to this lens is the 20mm f2.8, which is a full stop slower in terms of light collection. I consider this lens to be an extremely good value at the retail price, new. If you can get a good copy used on-line, it will be an incredible value. You may find that you never want to take the lens off the camera because of its versatility as a walkaround lens.

This lens has been extremely well-reviewed, by and large, on lens forum sites. I encourage you to check those out. Most people rate the lens 5 out of 5. A distinct minority give it 1 out of 5. I suspect that they either have defective copies which may need repair, or they have inaccurate perceptions of the lens. Also, popular photography magazine online reviewed this lens, as well as the 24 f1.8 and the 28 f1.8, very highly.

I would highly recommend this lens to anyone who wants a fast, sharp superwide angle lens.

Ultra-wide lens with sharpest optics!
Sigma 20mm EX is an exceptionally well made lens. Performance is extremely satisfactory. It is almost indispensable for me to go without it when I am outdoors. Takes very good wide angle shots of buildings, parks and friends and family picnicking in the park. Shots have come very sharp and crisp with edge to edge brightness and sharpness. 20mm wide angle focal length gives you a very large depth of field which is essential for taking shots of wide open outdoors, filling your frame with a large expanse of ground/sky. Fast f1.8 aperture will let you take snaps indoors in natural light and hand-held shots of lighted buildings etc. in night time. Rear focusing feature of this lens results in fast AF and also the length of the lens remains same. Macro shots of subjects will give you convex mirror type of fascinating images and one can produce far more interesting effects depending on one’s creativity.

Indoor flash photography may give rise to vignetting due to ultra wide nature of the lens as most flashes cover only 28mm span. This may probably be solved by using a wide angle attachment on the flash which to my disappointment was not available for my flash (Pentax AF-280T). Also 82mm filters may prove to be expensive. But I think a filter is essential for this lens as the front element glass is very near to the filter area.

All said this is an extremely satisfying buy (most bang for bucks) which gives you great results.

Wonderful!!!
This is one of my all time favorite lenses. I usually just leave it mounted. It’s fast max aperture and close focusing make it indispensable to me. Check it out–it focuses to within an inch of the front lens element! [edit: re-checked and it's actually about 3" from the front element. For reference the Nikon 20/2.8 focuses about 9" and the 28/1.4 focuses about 11" from the end of the lens.]

I’ve had one issue-it recently self destructed. The iris folded over itself. It’s inside the four year warranty (and damn near the end I might add) so it’s been fixed and is currently on the way back to me from sigma as I type this. I’m disappointed it failed, but considering the frame count and price, I can’t really complain. [edit: ok, maybe I can complain. It took them no less than five (5) tries to repair it properly. But in the end they did and I only had to pay the cost of shipping the first time. Works at least as good as new.]

I paid not much more than $300 for this lens new almost 4 years ago, and I’d gladly pay twice that for the shots this lens has gotten me. I’ve taken it out in the rain and snow and hail and the fact that it failed only recently attests to the build of this fine lens.

Buy it while they still make it! I may buy a backup soon for this reason.

Wow this works great.
I had initially bought a Vr3 3.5 inch setup which I had even bought the wire for. Well that was a complete disaster. The image quality on that camera was terrible.

The Boyo BTL300 is the complete opposite. This camera works great, has a fantastic field of view and is unbelievable at night. I tested it last night in the dark, the image in my monitor looked like it was a black/white daytime shot. Complete clarity and everything was visible. Also, the camera itself is so small and slim it is not noticeable at all.

So far I’m very happy with this unit.

Great Reverse Camera
There is nothing bad to say about this camera. Very easy to see behind you in the day or night. Very easy to install. It’s adjustable so make sure you get your bumper in the field of view for a point of reference so you know how far away you are from an object. My HU is a Pioneer AVIC F700BT so it hooked right up with no problems.

“I was so excited about this new product, it felt like it took FOREVER to get here! But now that it is here I find that it is a great OBDII Code Reader and a cool automotive performance meter as well. It’s like two products in one! As an OBDII Code Reader, it satisfies all my needs. Like the high end code scanners, it can access data stored in your car’s memory as well as Live data. The DashDyno provides access to all engine sensors and displays them as a graphical Gauge, Bar Graph, Line Graph, etc., etc. It can even display Turbo Boost as a Gauge – that’s cool.

Auterra’s DashDyno also provides automotive performance assessment similar to the G-Tech Pro. The unit can measure and display 0 – 60 and 1/4 Mile Acceleration times as well as Power and Torque. The Power and Torque graphs that can be displayed on the screen are exactly like what you see in all the Car Magazines! About the only thing it can’t do is display cornering G’s.

Nice, but may not work if you have a newer Ford
This product worked great with my old 1997 Chevy Silverado and I would have given it at least four stars if that was the vehicle I got it for. However, it refused to work AT ALL with my new 2010 Ford F350 Diesel. I’m sure glad I bought it from Amazon, because it’s going back. If Auterra comes out with a fix in a new release, I will consider re-buying.

Cool tool
Great tool for DIY tuning. Depending on car, one can view and save a number of parameters from A/F ratio to intake temperature, coolant temperature, etc. For me A/F ratio and boost readings are a must as I tune and work on my two cars. The unit is portable and does the work of multiple gauges, again depending on the car.

Be aware if purchasing for use in U.S.A.
Be aware of purchasing this item for use in the U.S.A. – our TV broke after 3 months and we cannot get it fixed because it is a multi-system (and non-US standard) TV. Sony just gives us phone numbers for Asian parts suppliers and says that is all they are able to do and the Amazon reseller, VCT, has been no help so far. I’m not even sure at this point if Sony will honor any kind of warranty because we bought a foreign system within the U.S. – something I honestly did not even consider when buying this multi-system TV. It is looking like we are out a brand-new TV and a ton of money. Until the TV broke it was great – we loved being able to watch our Region 2 DVDs on it. Picture quality was good and everything worked just fine, but then in the middle of watching something there was a loud popping noise and the TV went blank and so began our many, many e-mails and phone calls with Sony and VCT. Just be aware of this issue when considering a multi-system TV in the U.S.

Limited compatibility with TrendNet IP cameras
This unit works OK with older TrendNet IP cameras, but is not compatible with their newer cameras using 802.11N wireless and/or newer web server firmware, such as the TV-IP512WM. According to their support people, there is no plan to upgrade the TV-M7 for comatibiity.

Also, it does not appear to be able to control the camera steering on a camera such as the TV-IP422W.

Altogether, a disappointing purchase.
